While N will continue to support the 160M with first party titles until the next revision that commences the cutoff of the OG platform and the older, now more known to the developers and has a bigger install base, Pro SKU becomes the new base and the new model becomes the higher end model. But if it isn’t possible on the base model then they’ll stick to supporting the 60M player base. They’ll still have a chunk of a playerbase to support. But the idea is to support a platform for like 8 years (assumed based on comments) while third parties have the option to support a hypothetical 60M install base or a 160M install base. Click to shrink.This is an assumption based on public information: It’s not really for first party exclusives, Nintendo would still target the base model (keeps costs relatively low too) and leave the third parties to their own volition for games they want on the platform in some form but it isn’t possible, like RDR2 on the stronger SKU.
